It's on!
We are kicking off the launch season this week hopefully. We got nice weather and the launch site is begging for use to get out there. Stay in tune for some more launches for the 2008 season!!!

Winterfun!!!
I have to admit, i haven't done too much rocket stuff the past 2 months. But after seeing the Air Command rocket launch, i figured i better get back with it.
I have been caught up in a couple other things.
First I participated in our local winterfest cardboard sled race and took 3rd which wasn't too bad.

Now I have been working on my Nitro RC car quite a bit. But soon i will run out of things to do on it. So then onto rocket stuff.
Our first launches this year will probably consist of: a green splice rocket that I built last year but just never launched it, and probably A-1000FR with the new payload system. Over winter i think i have gotten rid of all the bugs and nerves so a spectacular launch is deffinentally needed.
Well thats all for now!

Happy Holidays!
New rocket has finally been totally figured out. The pressure vessel design was tested and held up to our launch pressure without bursting or leaking. Now I just have to start collecting parts so we can build it. I would love to get it done by the new launch season so we can go get all the bugs out.
Also we might be getting a new compressor. Should help with our newer rockets and increase our altitudes.
Happy New year and be safe and have fun!

Some Old Info
Well I wanted to keep it secret but over the summer we did build a Class C rocket and flew it about 5 times but never got 2 flights in a row for the cute to deploy. So dug up the old video and posted it to the public.

New ideas?
Today was another one of those boring sitting in front of the computer days. Except the new rocket is looking good. A name was given to it but will be kept secret until completion. This new rocket is defiantly going to be a complex rocket. I am a big fan of the KISS rule but, who doesn't break the rules?
Most of the design will be kept secret until finished. I am leaning towards a certain design that I like and should help us get pretty high.
Over the next few days i will begin to accumulate parts and start making test vessels.
But of course we won't forget our other project A-1000FR. I mentioned earlier in another post on the website about a pressure test. Well it was canceled due to cold temperatures. So we have to wait until the beginning of the year to pressure test it with the new bulkhead.

More Simulator Stuff
I worked a lot on the simulator side of things the past 2 days. I have found a rough design of what i think i am going to make for the Next Generation Series. And yes the next project name is called "Next Generation" But I have not yet thought of the rocket name. Other than that i haven't done too much. I have an idea of how to reinforce the rocket so it can hold high pressure, but i need to first make some test pressure vessels to see how they perform.

What are we up to?
Well over the last couple of days I have been working on Christmas things and getting ready.
But today I started thinking about our next generation of FTC rockets. I know some people have been wondering what other projects we are going to be working on over the winter break. For right now i haven't gotten too far on the new design. It will only be a little different in how it is made that will make a big difference I think. Of course more pressure is always one for the top priorities to consider.
I wanted to start the design so I could build some test vessels over the winter. And also in case we have some catastrophic failure of A-1000FR, then we can get a new rocket ready quickly.
I also found a compressor that is only $160 that does some good pressure and has a lot of volume.
